Event Management

Organising and managing music and other cultural events requires a combination of project management skills coupled with an understanding of the nature of the event itself.

Having played as a musician in many events in the UK, Europe and Worldwide i have an immediate understanding of what is required, not only by the performers but by all associated professionals.

I was the Project Manager for the Swansea Fringe Festivals 2005 & 2006, now for 2007 Dylan Thomas Fringe Festival (click on image for details) held in late Oct/early Nov this year. This provides me with extensive experience of managing events that incorporate not only music, but comedy, art, theatre, poetry and dance. My duties are many fold including dealing with agents, promoters, venue owners, Councils and all forms of performance professionals, ( PA, lighting, stage management, security, catering).

I also manage the Mumbles Mostly Jazz & Blues Festival which has been running since 2005. Our third year was biggest and best so far, with 2008 being no exception, click on the image for further details. Managing this events involves sourcing venues, performers, sound systems, lighting and security. Liaison with the local constabulary is also required along with the City and Parish councils.

My knowledge base of high quality musicians and performance professionals gives HRE a significant advantage when organizing events both here and abroad.
